Cartridge Filters are a great alternative to sand/glass media filters, one of the main advantages is you don’t have to backwash. Cartridge Filters use an element that can be washed out using a garden hose, saving many litres of water. Cleaning should be carried out at least once a month. The cartridge element will need replacing every 1 to 2 years depending upon water chemistry and bather load.
